Chanson, chrome and late night whisky

Chanson, chrome and late night whisky
A cracked chanson loops on the turntable while rain stitches tramlines outside. Black bob flickers chrome in the lamplight; the titanium ear cuff throws a sliver of light like an index finger. Took notes from a talk in Lyon, but the chorus keeps respooling into diagrams of orbital habitats.

Poured a neat whisky and held the glass up like a tiny viewport, practicing descent announcements in my head — unusual vocabulary, patient cadences, consent folded into the punctuation. If someone wants to rehearse being steady and curious, there's a good chair and a spool of thread waiting; we can map futures and then come back to the room.
